Go to a bar

Who can do it
Every member, on songs Tounes has mapped. A song is mapped when the choir has uploaded its main score as a PDF and a track for the Piano part: Tounes then works out where each printed bar falls in the audio. Songs you can navigate by bar carry a small mark in the Music lists, and the song page says Bar navigation available.
The Director, the Librarian and the Tenant Admin see where the map stands on the song, in Manage › Songs, and check the playing order of a score with repeats. Your choir may also have its own roles, under other names, that allow this.
Bar navigation only works when your choir has it switched on, in Manage › Settings.
How to
Jump or loop in the Player
- Play a mapped track of the song. Under the seek bar, a pill shows the bar playing: "Bar 12".
- Tap the pill. In Go to bar, type a bar number, such as 34, and send it: the track jumps there.
- To loop a run of bars, type the range, such as 20-28. The track plays bars 20 to 28 over and over. Turn the loop off in the Player to stop.
- Or tap a chip under Rehearsal marks to jump to a letter or a mark.
- When a bar is played more than once because of a repeat, Tounes asks "Bar 12 is played more than once. Which time?": tap 1st time, 2nd time and so on.
The pill only shows on the tracks Tounes could line up with the score. Another track of the same song may not have it.
Tap a bar on the score
- Open the song's score. Tap a bar: the music plays from there, on the track you are playing if it is mapped, else on your own part, else on the piano track.
- To turn this off or back on, tap the hand in the score's bar (Tap a bar to play from it), or use Settings › Score reader. It is on until you turn it off.
- While you mark up the score, a tap draws instead of playing (see Mark up your score).
Check the map (directors and librarians)
- Open the song in Manage › Songs. Bar navigation shows where the map stands: preparing, ready with its number of bars, can't map this song, or failed, with Retry.
- Replacing the score or the piano track starts a new map.
- For a score with repeats or a D.S. or D.C., Playing order lists the bars in the order they are played. Members already use it. Check it against the score, then tap Confirm or Reject.
- A rejected order takes bar navigation away from members until the score or the piano track changes. The order can't be edited by hand. You can change your answer later.
