Who can do it
Every member, for themselves. There is nothing to turn on: Surprise Practice reads your own practice record, which no one else in the choir sees.
Your choir needs practice tracking switched on. Practice streaks are not needed: without them, Surprise Practice works the same, only without the goal marker.
How to
Start a Surprise Practice
- In Music, tap Surprise Practice, at the top of the Practice section. Under it, a line tells you how much time is left on today's goal, says the goal is reached, or, without a goal, reads "A few songs picked for you".
- Tounes picks four songs from the Current repertoire, leaving out the songs you practised today. The row is not there when there is no song left to pick.
-
Each song shows the reason it was picked, the first that applies:
- For a concert in a number of days: the song is on the playlist of a concert, performance or tour less than three weeks away.
- Not practiced in a number of days: 14 days or more since you last practised it.
- Not rated yet: you have never rated it.
- Least practiced: otherwise.
- The songs you have practised least, not sung for two weeks, not rated, or that are on a coming concert's playlist come up more often, but the pick is random: each queue is different.
- Over the songs, Tounes adds up their length ("4 songs · about 19 min"). With a daily or weekly goal on and not reached yet today, Today's goal reached here marks the song at which the queue covers the time left (see Keep a practice streak).
Play it
- Tap Start: the four songs play in a row, each on your usual track. The player shows "Surprise Practice · 1 of 4" over the title while the queue plays.
- Tap Pick other songs for another four, without the ones you just saw when there are enough others.
- Before a concert, its countdown offers Start a Surprise Practice: the songs come from that concert's playlist only (see Count down to a concert).
