Who can do it
Every member. You see the events meant for you: the whole choir's, your section's, and those of the groups you belong to. Your reply is yours: only you give it, and you can change it while replies are open. You need no role.
Events are planned in Manage by the director or a section leader (see Plan events and venues). Section leaders also take attendance from the event (see Take attendance).
How to
Find an event
- Open the Calendar tab. Events are listed by day, under a strip of the month: tap a day in the strip to jump to it.
- Use the menus above the list: Upcoming or Past, and Type to keep only rehearsals, concerts or other kinds. Or search by name. Tounes remembers your choices.
- Tap an event to open it.
Reply
- In the list, an event you haven't answered yet has a Reply chip: tap it to answer yes, maybe or no without opening the event.
- In the event, Will you attend? shows Yes, Maybe and No, with the date to reply by when there is one. On a phone, the question floats at the bottom of the screen: tap it.
- On an event that counts guests, after Yes, set your Guests with the + and − buttons.
- After No, you can pick a Reason (optional): Illness, Work, Family, Travel, Schedule conflict or Other. It's a short list on purpose, so you never have to give details.
- Maybe tells the choir you might come. It asks for no guests and no reason, and "Who's coming" counts it apart. Home no longer lists the event among the replies you owe, but for a rehearsal Maybe still counts as not answered: the reminder reaches you as if you hadn't replied.
- Change your mind as often as you like. Your answer shows at once in the list, in the month strip and on Home. In the month strip, a Maybe keeps the hollow dot of an event you haven't answered.
- Replies are closed once the event is cancelled or postponed, once it has started, before replies open, or after the date to reply by. Your last answer stays shown.
What an event tells you
- When and where: the room, the address, notes, public transit and parking, with Directions. For an online event, Join opens the meeting link. Arrive gives the time to be there.
- Attire, Snacks and the Description.
- The Programme: the songs, in order. Listen opens the playlist in Music; tap a song to open it. A playlist kept for a group you're not in doesn't show here.
- Who's coming: how many are going, maybe or declined. When the event shows names, open the list to see who, by section; otherwise a line says who can see them.
- When the event has them: its Todos, Rides (see Share a ride), Accommodation (see Rooms for the tour), related articles, Pricing and where the group goes Afterwards. Tounes takes no payment.
Reminders
- Some hours before a rehearsal, every member who hasn't answered, or answered Maybe, gets a reminder notification (see Notifications).
- To see the choir's events in your own calendar app, see The choir calendar in your calendar app.
On the web and in the apps
Replies work the same everywhere. In the iPhone and Android apps, reminders also arrive as banners, a link to an event opens the app, and the event shows a Singing Mode card for reading its scores during the rehearsal (see Singing Mode). Singing Mode is not on the web.
In the app
Every rehearsal, concert and event of the choir. Use the chips to narrow the list, then pick an event to see its details and tell the choir whether you'll be there.
One event: when and where it happens, and its playlist. Answer the attendance question here so the directors know who is coming.
