Get a new choir ready

The Tounes team creates your choir and invites its first person as Tenant Admin and Director: an email asks them to set up their account, and they then open Manage. The choir starts on the Free plan with its starter roles (Tenant Admin, Director, Treasurer, Librarian and the others) ready to give, and nothing else in it: no sections, no voice parts, no members, no events. Here is the order that saves going back.

Who can do it

The Director and the Tenant Admin do most of the steps below. Giving roles is the Tenant Admin's alone. Both roles see personal information, so Tounes asks you to Confirm it's you when you open Manage. Your choir may also have given this work to a role of its own.

There is no way to create a choir yourself in the app: write to info@tounes.io.

How to

1. Settings first. In Manage › Settings, add the Logo, check the Time zone, set the Rehearsal reminder and the Section leader powers, and switch off the Features the choir won't use. See Manage and the choir's settings.
2. Voice parts. In Manage › Voice Parts, add the parts your music is split into, in order: Soprano 1, Soprano 2, Alto… Songs' practice tracks will be attached to them.
3. Sections. In Manage › Sections, add Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, Basses, or whatever your choir uses. Leave the leaders for later: they are picked among the members.
4. Venues. In Manage › Locations, save the places you rehearse and perform, once, to pick them for each event.
5. Members. In Manage › Choristers and Staff, add each member with their section and voice part. Leave the status on Active for those who sing with you, so they get the announcements; pick Candidate for someone who hasn't joined yet. See Members and invitations and Member statuses.
6. Invitations. In Manage › Invitations, tap Invite all to send everyone their link. Watch who has activated.
7. Section leaders. Back in Manage › Sections, name each section's leader. See Sections and voice parts.
8. Roles and positions. The Tenant Admin gives the Director, Treasurer, Librarian and other roles in Manage › Roles, and sets up the board in Manage › Positions. See Roles and positions.
9. Music and events. Add the songs and the playlists, then the rehearsals and concerts. See Manage songs and playlists and Plan events and venues.
